Arno 40
Immersive Sound, Italian Craftsmanship
A sleek design profile featuring a set of 5 1/2” high-performance drivers, engineered to handle demanding power levels with precision.
An unconventional acoustic load is paired with an extremely refined crossover circuit, both in terms of components used and in the seamless blending of sounds with great musicality, all while attentively catering to the amplifier’s needs. The sophisticated cabinet is constructed using various materials through the layer constraint technique, resulting in an almost resonance-free structure, with all hardware designed in-house and manufactured here in Italy.
To ensure an authentic listening experience, sound should come only from the drivers, not the cabinet. Vibrations in cabinet panels cause distortion, so they must be as inert as possible. Rosso’s constrained layer damping, used throughout the ARNO series, minimizes internal resonances by combining materials with complementary acoustic properties. This approach enhances rigidity, damping, and overall clarity. Listeners enjoy a purer sound, a more defined soundstage, and better bass response. Additionally, fibrous damping materials and air “cushions” help absorb cabinet resonances, improving energy distribution inside the speaker.
In our design philosophy, we don’t follow a single electroacoustic approach but select the best technique for each product. Rather than rigidly favoring first-order crossovers, we use the most effective method to achieve our goals. The outcome is key, always guided by our expertise in electroacoustics and hands-on experience. For the ARNO40, the crossover was engineered from scratch with top-quality components and exclusive in-house elements like custom coils. The circuit design focuses on making the impedance more resistive and stable, allowing the amplifier to operate more efficiently and ensuring superior sound quality.
