The Volterra Series 2 stays true to the unmistakable Rosso Fiorentino aesthetic while integrating cutting-edge engineering advancements. Although it retains the classic shape and proportions of its predecessor, this new iteration is entirely redesigned. The modular enclosure design was among the first Rosso speakers to incorporate multi-material construction, where HDF, aluminum, and viscoelastic pads work together to minimize resonances and cabinet vibrations. Volterra 2 enhances this approach with additional aluminum side panels, advanced damping pads, and a bracing system that stabilizes the mid-woofer and lower woofer magnets, significantly reducing unwanted vibrations. Rubber inserts between modules further isolate each section, ensuring exceptional structural integrity.
Volterra 2 employs a 2.5-way hybrid vented/closed-box system, featuring a 6.5” vented mid-woofer and an 8” closed-box woofer. This unique design allows for deep, controlled bass, an expansive soundstage, and a dynamic yet natural sonic presentation. The careful tuning of these elements results in remarkable flexibility, making the speaker well-suited for a wide range of listening environments, from intimate spaces to larger rooms.
At the top of the front baffle lies the ribbon/soft dome tweeter section, a hallmark of Rosso Fiorentino design. The 28mm neodymium silk dome tweeter is seamlessly integrated with a new ribbon ultrasonic generator, which extends high-frequency reproduction up to 100kHz. This ultra-wide bandwidth not only enhances spatial imaging and detail but also optimally supports the increasing popularity of high-resolution digital formats and vinyl. The result is an exceptionally lifelike and immersive listening experience.
